Benefits and drawbacks

We've tested both Semrush and Serpstat extensively. Compare the pros and cons of Semrush and Serpstat below.
Benefits of Semrush
It’s a very complete toolset that eliminates the need to use other tools. This means that you don’t have to be subscribed to a bunch of different tools, and can simply use Semrush. A great example of this is their social media poster tool. Because of this, I don’t have to worry about using another social media scheduling tool.
It’s probably one of the best tools out there when it comes to keyword research and data.
You can create your own dashboards so that you have the required information at your fingertips without having to dive into multiple tools.
The Local SEO tools are an absolute time saver for local businesses and it’s almost guaranteed to result in extra sales.
Semrush integrates with Google Data Studio so that you can create your own dashboards.
It has a large and helpful community.
Their academy has loads of useful resources to learn about the tool but also search marketing in general.
Their customer support team is very responsive.
The topic research tool helps a lot to get inspiration for new articles to write about.
Benefits of Serpstat
The site audit tools save me loads of time when it comes to technical SEO.
The batch analysis tool allows me to keep an eye on all of my competitors and track their rankings.
It’s very affordable for small business owners.
Their level of support is stellar.
I love that Serpstat integrates with Google Data Studio.
Drawbacks of Semrush
Semrush’s user management can be a bit annoying at times and the costs of adding users can add up quickly.
There is a lot of information at your fingertips. This can be overwhelming for new users. On the flip side, they do have an academy to learn.
Semrush doesn’t integrate with CRMs.
The email addresses that the link building tool provides are mostly of webmasters. It would be great if they can enrich this data from sources such as Hunter.
You need to be on their highest plan to get API access.
Backlink data can be improved compared to Ahrefs.
Drawbacks of Serpstat
There is not a very active community on key social media channels.
The user interface needs to work to make things more user-friendly.
I would’ve liked it if Serpstat could offer more backlink data. Currently, it doesn’t compare to a tool such as Ahrefs.
I’m missing the option to run reports for the globe instead of having to select countries.
