Table of Contents

In this Airmeet review, I will put the new kid on the block to the test.

During my marketing career, I’ve worked with a lot of virtual event platforms - both as an event organizer and as an event attendee.

During this Airmeet review, I will cover pricing, key features, the pros and cons of Airmeet, and how Airmeet stacks up against the competition.

Airmeet is a fast-growing cloud-based virtual event platform that offers a wide range of quality features. The most promising features of Airmeet are the networking and exhibitor features.

Event organizers will find that they have a lot of control over branding their virtual event. You can customize things such as the session stage and lounge areas.

The biggest benefit of Airmeet is the ease of setting up large virtual conferences, up to 100k attendees. On the contrary, one of the largest drawbacks is that some networking features don't work on Safari.

We were impressed by the fact that it only took us 37 minutes to configure a small event. Overall, Airmeet is an excellent virtual event platform for people who are looking to host large conferences.

Event reporting has to be improved. For example, I’d like to see data on the duration of session attendance.
The audience can’t view the full profile of other attendees.
People can't submit files in the chat of networking tables.
There is no multilingual support for sessions. For example, you can’t upload subtitle files which would help with accessibility.

If you are hosting virtual events of more than 20 attendees 2-3 times per month, Airmeet is worth it. The starting price is $99 and it’s really easy to get a positive return on your investment. The value that Airmeet offers compared to video conferencing tools is exceptional and in my opinion, worth the investment.

However, this is subjective and ultimately you will be the judge of this question.

Can I sell tickets for my Airmeet event?

Yes, you can sell tickets for your Airmeet events through an integration with Stripe. Stripe will currently charge you 2.9% +$0.30 per successful card charge.

How long does it take to set up a virtual conference on Airmeet?

From our testing, It takes approximately 37 minutes to set up a basic virtual conference on Airmeet.

If you require integrations with marketing automation systems or live streaming services, then it will take slightly longer.

See the breakdown below to find out how long it took to set up aspects of the virtual conference. During my testing, I’ve considered the configurations required to set up a basic event. For example, if you need more virtual sponsorship booths, the setup time will increase.

Configuration step Duration
Supplying basic event data such as the title and description 0.5 minute
Adjusting Event Entry & Participants settings including the registration form 2.5 minutes
Configuring venue settings (assuming the graphics have been designed already) 3 minutes
Adding 5 sessions 8 minutes
Adding 5 speakers 5 minutes
Configuring 3 sponsorship booths (assuming graphics and resources are ready) 14 minutes
Adding 3 sponsors and sponsorship tiers 3 minutes
Adding a backdrop for stages (assuming design files are ready) 0.5 minute
Adding pre-recorded videos 0.5 minute
Total 37 minutes

Yes, you can add custom fields to your Airmeet registration forms.

The basic fields on any Airmeet registration form are:

  • Name
  • Organization

  • Designation

You can decide if you want these fields to be mandatory or optional.

When adding new forms, you have the option to the following field types:

  • Short text (up to 70 characters)
  • Long text (up to 300 characters)
  • Single select answer
  • Multi-select answer
  • Consent

You can add as many fields as you want but I recommend keeping the sign-up form short as adding fields lowers the conversion metrics.

You can host live and pre-recorded sessions on Airmeet. Most keynote sessions on virtual events are pre-recorded. This helps to ensure quality assurance.

What can you customize and brand on Airmeet?

What types of events can I host with Airmeet?

Most people will use Airmeet to host virtual conferences, but you can also host smaller workshops, webinars, and meetups.

Basically, Airmeet offers two event types:

  1. Meetups (webinars, meetups, workshops)
  2. Conferences

With virtual conferences, you can host multi-track events in parallel, you will get access to exhibitor booths, and you will get networking features.

Meetups are single-track events in which you can stream sessions but it also contains networking features such as joining networking tables and speed networking.

Does Airmeet integrate with marketing automation tools?

Airmeet integrates with most marketing automation tools due to their integration with Zapier, but you can also generate API access keys.

Airmeet does make it really easy to integrate with Hubspot. For this, you will need your Hubspot API key that you can enter on the Airmeet platform. Here you can find the step-by-step guide on how to integrate Airmeet with Hubspot.

Does Airmeet have an app?

Airmeet offers a mobile application for both Apple and Android devices.

The Airmeet app allows you to join the event and participate in networking activities. However, as an event organizer, I recommend using the website to set up your event.

What are the technical requirements to run an event with Airmeet?

For people to join an Airmeet event, they need to use at least Chrome 79+ or Firefox 76+, or Microsoft Edge.

I’ve had some troubling experiences with Safari as certain features weren’t working such as networking in the social lounge. As networking is key to the success of your virtual events, this is a bit worrisome.

Safari has a market share of 18% so it could be that some of your audience will experience trouble. However, if you communicate this beforehand, everything will be fine. The majority of people use Chrome.

Airmeet does offer an app but it’s best to join the events using a computer or laptop. An internet speed of 10 Mb/s is recommended.

Does Airmeet support the rehearsing of the events?

Yes, you can rehearse or “dry-run” events on Airmeet. On the platform, they call this preview mode.

Airmeet sponsorship tiers- Airmeet review
What do the different sponsorship tiers do?

At the moment, not so much. The different levels of sponsorships will be added to the landing page and the default event reception configuration.

The benefits that you offer in your virtual event sponsorship prospectus will have to be enforced manually.

Can exhibitors set virtual booths up themselves?

Exhibitors can configure their own booth after the event organizer has created the booth and added exhibitors to the booth by using their email addresses.

Once the event organizer has added exhibitors to the booth, they will receive an email with the request to set up their booth.

Exhibitors can add the following things to their booth:

  • Logo
  • Company descriptions
  • PDF resources
  • Videos and images
  • Social media links
  • Booth networking tables
What is the maximum number of sponsors I can add to Airmeet?

You can add up to 50 sponsors per sponsorship tier. Airmeet has a maximum of 6 sponsorship tiers. This means that you can add a maximum of 300 sponsors to your Airmeet events.

How does Airmeet differentiate from competitors?

From my testing and experience, the biggest difference between Airmeet and its competitors is the ease of use. The platform is extremely easy to use for both event organizers and event attendees.

The last thing you want is that your event attendees don’t know what to do. We’ve only received positive feedback from our event attendees on Airmeet. It’s a straightforward and intuitive platform that’s constantly adding new features.

How does Airmeet compare to Zoom?

Zoom is a popular tool for video conferencing, but people also use it for small virtual events. Airmeets is purpose-built for virtual events whereas Zoom is built for video conferencing.

Airmeets offer a much larger suite to engage your audience during virtual events and has extensive networking features. On Airmeet, users can decide what they want to do. On Zoom, the hosts decide what the users will do.

Airmeet offers a multi-track agenda in which users can select the content relevant to them. Zoom is not capable of doing this. Airmeets allows you to add virtual booths for your event sponsors, on Zoom you can’t do this.

I’m not saying Zoom is bad. I use Zoom daily and love it. It’s just that Zoom is built for a different purpose namely video conferencing.

How does Airmeet compare to Cvent?

Another major virtual event platform is Cvent. Cvent is a more mature player on the market and has more features geared towards hybrid events.

If you’re planning hybrid events, I’d suggest using Cvent as they have better processes when it comes to checking in in-person event attendees and merging the data with your virtual audience.

What are the key features of Airmeet?

The key features of Airmeet are: Speed networking, Networking tables, Streaming to social platforms, Integrations, sponsorship booths, and ticketing.

Does Airmeet allow captions on events?

Yes, with Airmeet you can configure closed captions for your sessions.

You can find the details on how to set this up here.

In conclusion, while being a relatively new player, Airmeet has a lot to offer. They understood the importance of networking at virtual events and implemented stellar features to facilitate networking.

Virtual events often rely on the revenue of sponsors. Airmeet has sufficient features for exhibitors to:

  1. Set up a great looking booth;
  2. Allow for networking with booth visitors;
  3. Self-manage the set-up of their booth.

Airmeet is an ideal virtual event platform for people who are looking to host larger virtual conferences.
