It’s a very complete toolset that eliminates the need to use other tools. This means that you don’t have to be subscribed to a bunch of different tools, and can simply use Semrush. A great example of this is their social media poster tool. Because of this, I don’t have to worry about using another social media scheduling tool.
It’s probably one of the best tools out there when it comes to keyword research and data.
You can create your own dashboards so that you have the required information at your fingertips without having to dive into multiple tools.
The Local SEO tools are an absolute time saver for local businesses and it’s almost guaranteed to result in extra sales.
Semrush integrates with Google Data Studio so that you can create your own dashboards.
It has a large and helpful community.
Their academy has loads of useful resources to learn about the tool but also search marketing in general.
Their customer support team is very responsive.
The topic research tool helps a lot to get inspiration for new articles to write about.
Semrush’s user management can be a bit annoying at times and the costs of adding users can add up quickly.
There is a lot of information at your fingertips. This can be overwhelming for new users. On the flip side, they do have an academy to learn.
Semrush doesn’t integrate with CRMs.
The email addresses that the link building tool provides are mostly of webmasters. It would be great if they can enrich this data from sources such as Hunter.
You need to be on their highest plan to get API access.
Backlink data can be improved compared to Ahrefs.

However, Semrush is really for anyone who owns a website and is interested in improving your online presence. This means it’s suitable for bloggers, e-commerce websites, affiliate sites, and any other site.

Is Semrush worth it?

If Semrush is worth the investment is totally up to you. If you’re going to log into the platform every now and then to check out some data then it’s not worth it.

However, if you’re serious about improving your online visibility and you’re willing to put in the work, then yes, it’s probably one of the best tools on the market that you can purchase.

Myself, I’ve used Semrush for years and it’s been worth it for me. The insights to keyword data have been instrumental in defining content marketing strategies to grow online visibility for many websites that I’ve worked with.

Semrush eliminates the need for me to use other tools such as social media scheduling tools. It’s an all-in-one package that for me has been worth the investment.

While Semrush does offer some tools that save you significant time, the majority of their tools will give you access to data. That data is only going to be as valuable as the things you do with the data. If you’re just going to stare at the data then don’t invest.

On the other hand, if you use that data as input to define your online visibility marketing strategies, then it’s definitely worth the money and it’s going to be difficult to live without the tool.

So for me, yes, Semrush is worth it. However, you’re the only person that can decide if it is worth it for you. My advice is to just give their trial a shot.
